Control Your Cooling. Reduce Fan Noise.

Full fan speed isn’t always necessary when recording indoors or in a studio. Our upgraded variable fan speed controller lets you reduce airflow noise while maintaining the cooling your camera needs.

In our indoor testing, fan speeds of approximately 2,500–3,000 RPM provided enough cooling to keep the action camera recording. Cooling needs vary with room temperature, camera model, and recording settings.

Adjust your fan from approximately 2,400 to 7,000 RPM, with an LCD screen that displays estimated RPM for easy monitoring.

USB Fan Speed Controller Instructions

Basic Operation

  1. Plug the controller’s male USB connector into a USB power source, such as a phone charger, power bank, or computer USB port. Ensure the power source can supply more power than the connected fan or LED light requires. Then plug your USB fan or USB desk lamp into the controller’s female USB connector. The output turns on automatically.
  2. Roll the control wheel left to increase the output voltage or right to decrease it.
  3. Press the control wheel once to turn the output on or off.
  4. Double-press the control wheel to turn off the digital display. Press any button to wake the display.

Optional Timer Setup

  1. Press and hold the control wheel for 3 seconds to enter the timer settings. “—” indicates that the timer is off; a displayed number indicates that the timer is enabled.
  2. Press the control wheel once to turn the timer on or off.
  3. Roll the control wheel left to increase the timer duration or right to decrease it.
  4. Press and hold the control wheel for 3 seconds to exit the timer settings and begin the countdown.

USB Speed Controller Warning with 2 fans:

Do not overload the USB speed controller. When using a dual-fan cooler, keep both fans at 5,000 RPM or below while connected through the controller.

Running both fans above 5,000 RPM may trigger the controller’s overcurrent protection, causing it to repeatedly shut off and restart. This protective cycling does not, by itself, indicate a defective fan or cooler.

In our testing, speeds above 5,000 RPM generally provided little additional cooling. The controller is primarily intended to reduce fan speed and airflow noise when full-speed operation is unnecessary.

  1. OK, I don’t usually leave reviews but after 6 months I have to say “Bravo” to Roy and the fan governor he designed and built. It is well-made, well thought out with features. I shoot volleyball games in 4K without any issues whatsoever. Reasonably priced and fantastic customer service. Many people have asked about my setup at tournaments. Some just sneak a photo when they think I’m not looking. Thank you so much!
