Designed and tested through real use in real-world conditions—not guesswork or copied designs.

CAMCooLER has been actively cooling action cameras since the release of the GoPro Hero 8 in 2019.
Our designs have been refined through years of internal testing and real-world use in extreme summer conditions.

We know what works, what partially works, and what fails outright.

We’ve tested multiple generations of our own designs alongside competing products—so you don’t have to. The data is clear: most solutions only delay overheating. They don’t prevent it.

CAMCooLER is engineered to maintain stable recording in high-heat, low-airflow environments—where other solutions shut down.

See validation data below from internal testing and real-world recordings in Arizona heat.

  • We recently tested two devices, and both delivered disappointing—though not surprising—results. The Action Camera Cooling Fan Radiator with the red copper plate does help and did extend the run time compared to running the GoPro without it and it performed better than a simple solar shade. However, neither device prevented overheating. Both still resulted in thermal shutdown under real-world conditions. Read More >>>>

  • Results vary by environment and camera setup. For extreme heat, lowering resolution improves reliability.

The Bottom Line. If you need dependable performance in the heat, especially during long games or events, CAMCooLER is the professional’s choice. There is no need to reduce resolution in most scenarios, shorten clips, or hope the sun cooperates.
